Reuters के मुताबिक third-party sellers SneakPeek और Peekaboo जैसी brands की kits भारत में shipping के साथ offer कर रहे थे। eBay ने कहा कि listings local regulations और उसकी own policies का उल्लंघन करती थीं।
भारत में यह इतना संवेदनशील क्यों है?
Prenatal sex determination पर भारत की कानूनी रोक female foeticide और sex-selective practices को रोकने के लिए बनाई गई है। इसलिए online marketplaces और search platforms के लिए सिर्फ product listing नहीं, geo-restriction और delivery controls भी महत्वपूर्ण हैं।

eBay shipping और checkout safeguards की समीक्षा कर रहा है। Reuters ने यह भी बताया कि Health Ministry ने अगस्त में Google को कुछ gender-prediction related search links हटाने के notices भेजे थे। इस मामले में enforcement का सवाल physical market से आगे digital platforms तक पहुंच चुका है।
