केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय ने 8 अक्टूबर 2026 को TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan के तहत JOSH यानी Joint Squad for Health Teams launch किए। First phase 11 States के 55 districts में Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports और Ministry of Defence के collaboration से शुरू की जा रही है।
Programme youth volunteers और community networks के जरिए TB prevention, early testing, treatment completion और stigma reduction का संदेश grassroots तक ले जाना चाहता है। यह formal health system को local mobilisation और peer outreach से supplement करने का प्रयास है।
Community participation case finding और treatment adherence में मदद कर सकती है, लेकिन volunteer mobilisation diagnostic capacity, drug availability, nutritional support या public-health surveillance का विकल्प नहीं है। TB control के लिए social participation और मजबूत clinical systems दोनों जरूरी हैं।
UPSC के लिए JOSH public health में Jan Bhagidari approach का उदाहरण है। इसकी effectiveness campaign visibility से नहीं, बल्कि timely diagnosis, completed treatment और transmission reduction जैसे outcomes से मापी जानी चाहिए।
