President of India 22 September को Ekta Nagar, Gujarat में 72nd National Film Awards प्रदान करेंगी. Awards 2024 के cinema को feature films, non-feature films और writing on cinema categories में recognise करते हैं. Ministry of Information and Broadcasting के अनुसार ceremony को national capital से बाहर ले जाना awards को अलग-अलग regions तक पहुंचाने की policy का हिस्सा है.
1954 में शुरू हुए National Film Awards India की linguistic और regional diversity को भी document करते हैं. इस edition में पहली बार एक Santhali film को non-feature section में recognition मिला है, जो large commercial industries के बाहर के cinema की representation को highlight करता है.
