Modi-Xi meeting: border peace, trade imbalance और business ties पर ‘reset’ की कोशिश
2020 Galwan clash के बाद रिश्तों में सावधानी से thaw आया है। New Delhi meeting में दोनों नेताओं ने border stability और economic engagement को साथ आगे बढ़ाने की बात की।

Prime Minister Narendra Modi और Chinese President Xi Jinping ने BRICS Summit के sidelines पर bilateral meeting की। Xi का यह 2019 के बाद पहला India visit था और दोनों देशों ने strained relationship को stabilise करने की कोशिश का संकेत दिया।
2020 Galwan Valley clash के बाद India-China ties sharply deteriorate हुए थे। Military deployments, investment restrictions, visa issues और political mistrust ने relationship को लंबे समय तक प्रभावित किया।
Border peace को Modi ने central condition बनाया
Modi ने कहा कि disputed border पर peace और tranquillity broader relationship के लिए जरूरी है। India ने existing agreements और “mutual respect, mutual sensitivity, mutual interest” के framework पर जोर दिया।
Xi ने relationship को long-term strategic perspective से देखने और cooperation बढ़ाने की बात की।
Trade imbalance अब भी बड़ा मुद्दा
दोनों leaders ने market access, business exchanges और people-to-people links पर चर्चा की। India का China के साथ merchandise trade deficit बड़ा बना हुआ है, जबकि Chinese investment और technology access पर security screening भी जारी है।
Meeting एक diplomatic reset का संकेत है, लेकिन इसे full normalisation मानना जल्दबाजी होगी। Border deployment, Arunachal Pradesh, regional competition और economic dependence जैसे structural issues अभी unresolved हैं।
